“Public service becomes fulfilling when we are joined by like-minded public servants —each of us committed to the noble goal of building a more reliable, a more efficient, a more compassionate government,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed after receiving the manifestos of support from all the Visayas Governors at the Cebu Provincial Capitol in Cebu City.

President Marcos Jr. highlighted Cebu’s crucial role in national development, citing how collaboration among government leaders has driven economic growth, generated jobs and improved lives.

The Region has emerged as a key driver of economic expansion. In 2023, Central Visayas led the nation with a 7.3% growth rate, followed closely by Western Visayas at 7.2% and Eastern Visayas at 6.4%. The latter two Provinces even outpaced the country’s overall gross domestic product (GDP) growth, showcasing the Region’s resilience and dynamism.

The Chief Executive reaffirmed the Administration’s commitment to sustaining this momentum through major infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and boosting economic activity.

Key projects in Cebu include the New Cebu International Container Port, the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit Project and the construction of the fourth Cebu-Mactan Bridge, along with the coastal road project.

“We are doing more. We will do more. Our duties as public servants are never-ending, so we continuously push not only to maintain this growth but also to leverage on the momentum that it has given us,” the President stated.

Furthermore, he called on officials to stay focused on development efforts and eliminate distractions, ensuring that governance remains centered on serving the Filipino people.

“Let us continue to deliver services that are expected from our Bagong Pilipinas. Let us continue to be reliable public servants. Let us continue our good work,” President Marcos Jr. concluded in his speech.
