President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. inspected a portion of a damaged seawall caused by the onslaught of Typhoon ‘Marce’ along the coastal area of Barangay Poblacion 1 in the Municipality of Pagudpud during his visit to the Province of Ilocos Norte.

The entire Province of Ilocos Norte has been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 following the strong winds and heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon ‘Marce’ throughout Northern Luzon, which caused widespread destruction in infrastructure and livelihood of Ilocanos.

According to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Pagudpud, around 2,000 individuals or more than 500 families were affected by the recent Typhoon in the Municipality alone, that left 23 totally and 198 partially damaged houses in various barangays.

Since the onset of Typhoon ‘Marce,’ President Marcos Jr. has ordered a whole-of-government approach in dealing with the impacts of the said calamity, where he urged departments and agencies to be on full alert in addressing the immediate needs of all Filipinos.
