“Basta’t sama-sama tayo, nakikita natin magtulungan tayong lahat, kahit papaano magagawan natin ng paraan. Mabibigyan natin ng tulong ang lahat ng mga nangangailangan na tinamaan ng nitong Marce,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed during the distribution of various assistance to families impacted by Typhoon ‘Marce’ in Buguey, Cagayan.

In his remarks, President Marcos Jr. highlighted the severe impact of the Typhoon, noting that unlike previous storms which][ often led to widespread flooding, ‘Marce’s’ primary damage stemmed from its powerful winds.

Joined by several Cabinet members, the President underscored the whole-of-government approach to addressing Typhoon ‘Marce’s’ aftermath.

“Hangga’t maaari, hangga’t kaya namin, hangga’t kaya naming gawin — at kahit na hindi namin kaya, gagawan namin ng paraan kakayanin natin dahil mahirap naman basta’t pabayaan ang mga tao,” President Marcos Jr. said.

He emphasized that relief operations would continue, with food and essential supplies consistently provided to affected communities. He directed the Department of Agriculture (DA) to assess damage to the local fishing industry, vital to Cagayan’s economy, particularly its renowned crab farms.

As communities rebuild, the Department of Education (DepEd), led by Secretary Sonny Angara, will prioritize repairing damaged schools to ensure students can return to safe and supportive learning environments.

Meanwhile, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan has committed to restoring essential infrastructure to improve connectivity and access.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), for its part, will continue implementing the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

“Kaya naman tayo walang casualty ngayon ay nakapag-evacuate tayo nang mabuti at tuloy-tuloy ang suporta ng gobyerno,” President Marcos Jr. ended in his remarks.
