President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joined the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Leaders at the 44th ASEAN Summit Plenary Session in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) to promote the regional digital economy, cybersecurity and workforce development.

He aims to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through improved financing, digitization and capacity building while also advocating for sustainable agriculture and tourism.

In July, the Philippines was selected to host the ‘Loss and Damage’ fund board to assist countries affected by climate change. Additionally, the Philippines is ready to welcome delegates as it hosts the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) and the International Conference on Women, Peace and Security (ICWPS) this October.
