President Yoon Suk Yeol of the Republic of Korea arrives with his spouse, First Lady Kim Keon Hee, for a two-day State Visit to the Philippines on 6-7 October 2024.

President Yoon’s visit marks the first by a South Korean President in over a decade, strengthening the already robust relations between the two countries.

Upon his arrival, President Yoon leads a wreath-laying ceremony at the Korean War Memorial Pylon within the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City, honoring the soldiers who fought alongside Filipino troops during the Korean War.

He is also expected to meet with members of the South Korean community in the Philippines.

The following day, President Yoon Suk Yeol heads to Malacañan Palace for a bilateral meeting with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to discuss ways to deepen cooperation, particularly in trade, defense and technology.

The state visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea.
