President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. welcomed Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski in a courtesy call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace on September 4, 2024.

The President highlighted Minister Sikorski’s visit as a symbol of strengthened Philippines-Poland ties and their joint commitment to the Indo-Pacific amid current European geopolitical challenges.

In response, the Foreign Affairs Minister expressed gratitude for the warm reception and commended the President for his effective diplomacy and security measures, as well as praised the defense cooperation agreements between the two nations.

His visit coincided with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Poland that was established on September 22, 1973.

Poland is home to nearly 3,000 Filipinos, highlighting the strong people-to-people connections that enhance the bilateral relationship.
