President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. convened a meeting with the Private Sector Advisory Council – Infrastructure Sector Group (PSAC-ISG) at the State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace.

During the session, the PSAC-ISG commended the government’s recent advancements in Metro Manila’s water distribution system.

Specifically, they highlighted that the improved pipelines and water systems have significantly reduced system losses and mitigated flooding in susceptible areas.

Furthermore, the Council emphasized replicating Metro Manila’s successful water distribution model nationwide. They also suggested leveraging rivers to enhance water distribution and manage flooding more effectively.

In response, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) prioritized flood control initiatives as part of its Infrastructure Flagship Projects (IFPs).

Consequently, the PSAC-ISG presented data detailing the 88 rivers identified by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – Water Resources Management Office (WRMO) as key areas for flood control.
