President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received Admiral Samuel Paparo, Commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), in a courtesy call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.

During the meeting, President Marcos Jr. conveyed his gratitude to the USINDOPACOM Commander for visiting the country, noting that it underscored the importance of reaffirming the already strong ties between the Philippines and the United States of America (USA).

Matters pertaining to security and defense cooperation, as well as other regional concerns for both nations, formed part of the discussion in the courtesy call.

This is Admiral Paparo’s first visit to the Philippines as Commander of USINDOPACOM. He is in the country to attend the Annual Meeting of the Mutual Defense Board and Security Engagement Board (MDB-SEB), where he is also set to participate in the planning of activities for the year 2025.
