The Office of the President (OP) paid tribute to the Filipino athletes who competed in the Paris 2024 Olympics with a grand celebration titled ‘Pagbibigay Dangal: A Heroes’ Welcome Celebration for the Philippines’ Paris 2024 Olympians,’ which featured a 7.7-kilometer parade that began at Aliw Theater in Pasay City and ended at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila on August 14, 2024.

Supporters gathered along the parade route, eagerly cheering as the athletes made their way through the streets. The celebration reached its peak at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum where athletes’ families, friends, students and aspiring athletes awaited their arrival. The event featured performances by various artists, adding to the festive atmosphere.

During the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Philippines was represented by 22 athletes who competed in nine (9) different sports. Their efforts resulted in two (2) gold and two (2) bronze medals, placing the country 37th overall in the medal standings.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., recognizing the athletes’ achievements, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Philippine sports during a special event at Malacañan Palace where he congratulated and honored the Olympians.
