Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah ‘Mina’ Pangandaman turned over the PhP6.352 trillion National Expenditure Program (NEP) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in a ceremony at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.
With the theme, ‘Agenda for Prosperity: Fulfilling the Needs and Aspirations of the Filipino People,’ the proposed national budget aims to support the Administration’s goal of economic and social transformation, building on the progress made over the past two (2) years to foster a prosperous, inclusive and resilient Philippines.
It is likewise anchored on the three (3) pillars of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028 focusing on ‘Develop and Protect the Capabilities of Individuals and Families,’ ‘Transform Production Sectors to Generate More Quality Jobs and Competitive Products’ and ‘Create an Enabling Environment.’
Prior to the event, DBM Secretary Pangandaman submitted the 2025 NEP to the House of Representatives which boosts investments on education, infrastructure, social economic development and climate action.
