Several organizations from both the public and private sectors are honored as recipients of the prestigious 2023 Philippine Quality Award (PQA) — the highest level of national award recognizing exemplary public and private organizations in the country — in a conferment ceremony at the Heroes Hall in Malacañan Palace on July 17, 2024.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin delivers the keynote address in the event, where he emphasizes that “the conferment of this prestigious award demonstrates our collective commitment to upholding excellence in different fields and endeavors… May our entire workforce both from the public and private sectors leverage their skills to become globally competitive workers.”
“I urge you to sustain your best practices and, more importantly, to cascade these good practices to different organizations, institutions and agencies all over the country… You can be assured that this administration supports all programs and recognitions that rally behind the ideals of a Bagong Pilipinas,” he adds.
The event recognizes 14 organizations comprising 10 educational institutions, two (2) government agencies and two (2) private organizations. These awardees are recognized under three (3) categories: Recognition for Commitment to Quality Management, the first level of recognition for organizations that have shown commitment to quality management; Recognition for Proficiency in Quality Management, which serves as a testament to significant progress in building sound processes; and Recognition for Mastery in Quality Management, which recognizes organizations that have demonstrated superior results in mastering quality management and serve as role models in the Philippines.
Institutionalized through Republic Act (RA) No. 9013 in 2001, the PQA Program serves as a global competitive template that aims to encourage and engage public and private organizations and other stakeholders to strive for and attain performance excellence.
