“Kasing-init at kasing-sigasig ng ating kasalukuyang administrasyon sa pagsisikap na ipagpatuloy ang nasimulan at tiyaking makikinabang ang mga mamamayan sa ating mga programa at proyekto,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. vowed as he reiterated the Administration’s commitment to further intensify socioeconomic projects across the country, particularly in the City of Tagum, Province of Davao del Norte.
In his speech during the distribution of assistance to farmers, fisherfolk and families in the City, the President underscored various infrastructure projects planned for the City and Province that will provide opportunities for economic growth. These include the Mawab-Maragusan-Caraga Road, Carmen-Tagum City Coastal Road, Tagum City Bypass Road and the Mindanao Railway Project Phase 1.
He also cited other projects, including the upcoming seven-storey Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) in Apokon, Tagum City and the New Visayas-Tulalian Farm-to-Market Road that will ensure easy and timely delivery of services and goods.
President Marcos Jr. reassured the people of government’s relentless efforts to address the impacts of the El Niño phenomenon, particularly to the affected farmers and fisherfolk in 16 barangays across the Davao Region, which accounts for more than 1,000 families.
During the program, the Department of Agriculture (DA) distributed various agricultural machineries, including rice combine harvesters and four-wheel tractors to an association of farmers and irrigators in the Province. The Chief Executive also ordered the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) to expedite assistance to fisherfolk in order to ensure steady fish supplies through aquaculture production and mangroves planting.
