President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the Office of the President (OP) flag raising ceremony at the Kalayaan Grounds in Malacañan Palace.
The event serves as the first day of the OP’s 127th anniversary celebration that carries the theme, ‘Pagkakaisa tungo sa Masiglang Bagong Pilipinas’ which aims to pursue the Administration’s vision for a total and comprehensive transformation of the nation.
In his keynote message, President Marcos Jr. acknowledged the significant efforts of OP employees who contribute to the nation’s progress, underscoring that each personnel should fulfill their responsibilities not for personal gain but for the service of the Filipino people towards building a Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines).
Furthermore, the Chief Executive emphasized that humility is the best trait of a civil servant as this will benefit every Filipino.
“Kaya’t huwag nating kakalimutan sila, dahil lahat ng ito para sa taumbayan, lahat ito ginagawa natin para sa mga kababayan natin; lahat ng ito ay ginagawa natin para sa kinabukasan ng Pilipinas,” he added.
By virtue of Administrative Order No. 322, series of 1997, the Office of the President was declared to be officially created on March 22, 1897 following the Tejeros Convention when General Emilio Aguinaldo was elected President of the Philippine Revolutionary Government.
