President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. talked with newly elected and incoming President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia in a phone conversation at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.
The President congratulated the Defense Minister for his commanding lead in Indonesia’s latest electoral count and cited that he is looking forward to further deepening bilateral ties with the Philippines’ close neighbor in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Likewise, President Marcos Jr. said that he looks forward to personally meeting incoming President Subianto before the inaugural ceremony.
The Philippines and Indonesia are celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations this year, having been officially established on November 24, 1949.
