Wrapping up his visit to the Province of Agusan Del Sur, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the Philippine Army’s (PA) 401st Infantry Brigade (401IB), 4th Infantry Division (4ID) and delivered a talk to troops.

“Not only do we need warfighters, but we need also peacemakers. This is the new development, the new aspect, the new dimension to the job that we are facing,” President Marcos Jr. emphasized on the dual nature of the military’s mission, highlighting the importance of not only defending against threats but also laying the groundwork for lasting peace.

He outlined the government’s unwavering commitment to modernizing the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and enhancing the welfare of military personnel, underscoring the importance of providing soldiers with the necessary tools and support to fulfill their missions effectively.

While acknowledging the challenges faced by the nation, particularly in conflict-affected regions, the Commander-in-Chief expressed confidence in the AFP’s ability to uphold peace and security.

In closing, President Marcos Jr. pledged to continue supporting the AFP in their mission and vowed to continue recognizing and appreciating their efforts.
