Capping off his successful two-day State Visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graced a state banquet hosted by President Vo Van Thuong.

In his remarks, President Marcos Jr. noted the vibrant and intricate strategic partnership that the Philippines and Vietnam share for a decade, apart from 48 years of amicable relations further deepened by cooperation in the political, economic, defense, maritime and people-to-people ties.

He conveyed his appreciation to the Vietnamese government for the privilege of undertaking this state visit to sustain the positive momentum of the two countries’ high-level and substantive engagements.

At the same time, he fondly recalled the establishment of diplomatic relations during the administration of his father, the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., and the significant role that his mother, former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos, played in establishing direct contact with Vietnam in 1975.
