President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. welcomed His Excellency Gilberto Fonseca Guimarães de Moura, Resident Ambassador-Designate of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Philippines, as he formally presented his letter of credence in a ceremony at the Reception Hall in Malacañan Palace.
In brief remarks, the Brazilian envoy expressed his unwavering confidence in overcoming challenges and advancing the robust relationship between Brazil and the Philippines, emphasizing his commitment to diplomatic cooperation.
In response, President Marcos Jr. extended a warm welcome to the Ambassador-Designate, expressing his eagerness for the collaborative endeavors that lie ahead. The Chief Executive emphasized the shared commitment to mutual benefit, highlighting the potential for joint initiatives.
Established in July 1946, the Philippines and Brazil have maintained diplomatic ties dedicated to peace, economic and social development, equality, and the condemnation of racial discrimination and terrorism, among others.
