“We can proudly say that the Philippines is a trailblazer in domestic climate finance for adaptation, showcasing our nation’s commitment to global environmental responsibility,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said in his remarks during the ceremonial turnover of the People’s Survival Fund (PSF) at the President’s Hall, Malacañan Palace.

The President Jr. announced the approval of five (5) climate change adaptation projects across various local government units (LGUs) amounting to a total of PhP539.44 million. He highlighted the critical role of the PSF, emphasizing its pivotal function as the nation’s safeguard in confronting the challenges of climate change and mitigating its impacts.

Likewise, he commended the beneficiaries of the PSF for their dedication to noteworthy climate-related projects that will significantly enhance the resilience of the Filipino people.

Encouraging a positive perspective amidst challenges, President Marcos Jr. urged all Filipinos to perceive the impacts of climate change not as burdens but as opportunities for renewal and advancement.

“Through the PSF, we can actualize our vision of a sustainable and climate-resilient Philippines. It serves as a testament to the transformative change that a united people can achieve,” he concluded in his speech.
