President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with Honorable Natsuo Yamaguchi, Chief Representative of Japan’s Komeito Party, in a courtesy call at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace.

In his remarks, the President recognized the visit as an integral part in the continuing efforts to forging deeper and progressive relations between the Philippines and Japan. He reaffirmed the country’s strong commitment to work closely with Japan towards sustaining areas of mutual cooperation in trade, economy, infrastructure, maritime industry and official development assistance (ODA), among others.

President Marcos Jr. underscored the need to bring the partnership into higher levels of cooperation anchored on enhancing key discussions in defense and security in the Asia-Pacific region. He also expressed his hopes to establish and create more opportunities in boosting economic peace and strength between the two countries.

Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene Garcia-Albano, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil, Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines Kazuhiko Koshikawa, and officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and Komeito Party joined the Chief Executive during the meeting.
