President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received Ms. Charito Leonardo-Romano, a Filipino nurse based in the United Kingdom (UK), in a courtesy call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.

Romero is among the two Filipino recipients of the prestigious British Empire Medal (BEM) in 2021 bestowed upon by the late Queen Elizabeth II for her commendable and courageous work in the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic.
