After the ceremonial welcome, President Benigno S. Aquino III called on Her Excellency Ms. Quentin Bryce at the Government House where the two leaders had their official photo taken at the Drawing Room. President Aquino signed the Visitors’ Book and was invited for the State Luncheon hosted by the Governor-General and Mr. Michael Bryce AM AE after their meeting.

Ms. Bryce is the 25th and current Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia. She served as the Governor of Queensland for five years before her current appointment was approved by Queen Elizabeth II in September 2008. Today, Prime Minister Julia Gillard has just announced that the Governor-General’s term has been extended by the Queen until March 2014 because of her remarkable service. She is the first woman to hold the position.
