Labour and Opposition Party Leader David Shearer paid a courtesy call to President Benigno S. Aquino III at the Intercontinental Hotel in Wellington.
The President was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, Philippine Ambassador to the Philippines Virginia Benavidez, National Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin and Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo. Former Foreign Minister and Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Phil Goff joined Mr. Shearer during the courtesy call.
The meeting was organized to acknowledge the presence of the opposition party in New Zealand and to suggest that the New Zealand government has fair representations for disparate political parties.
