After the meeting with Governor General Jerry Mateparae, President Benigno S. Aquino III went straight to the Parliament Buildings for his bilateral engagement with New Zealand Prime Minister The Right Honorable John Key.
During the meeting, the government heads discussed the initiatives of both countries to strengthen all areas of bilateral cooperation including trade, tourism, culture, peace and security. They also talked on the memorandums of agreement on PH-NZ workers holiday scheme, defense, and geothermal energy, which both parties will sign after the meeting.
President Aquino was joined by his Cabinet members Albert del Rosario of Foreign Affairs, Cesar Purisima of Finance, Proceso Alcala of Agriculture, Voltaire Gazmin of National Defense, Gregory Domingo of Trade and Industry, Arsenio Balisacan of National Economic Development Authority and Ricky Carandang of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office.
