President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. discussed possible partnerships with officials and executives of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group and White & Case in a meeting in Tokyo, Japan.

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group is a financial institution with a 400-year history that offers a diverse range of financial services. It currently operates in 40 countries including the Philippines (smfg.co.jp).

Meanwhile, White & Case is a global law firm that has been operating in Manila since 2007 and is mostly involved in substantial line-up of process like finance, technology, human resources and marketing (whitecase.com).

The attendees in the meeting included former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Benjamin Diokno, and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual, among others.
