President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led a series of roundtable meetings with Chinese business executives on the final day of his State Visit to the People’s Republic of China.
The first roundtable involved the Agribusiness sector, specifically agricultural trade, agribusiness investments and supply of fertilizer, intended to give the President a bird’s eye view of the Philippines’ major interests and potentials in China for the agriculture sector.
In his remarks, President Marcos Jr. emphasized that agricultural development has always been an important advocacy given his public service as a local government official before becoming Senator and currently, the nation’s Chief Executive. This is the reason why he has taken the portfolio of Agriculture Secretary to prioritize the agriculture sector and placed this at the forefront of his Administration’s post-pandemic economic recovery strategy.
