President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. started his inaugural participation to the 29th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting as one of the panelists in a discussion with business leaders and top executives at the APEC CEO Summit.
Together with his fellow panelists, the President tackled the current state and outlook of the global economy and what the APEC Member Economies and businesses can do to prepare the region for the future.
President Marcos Jr. underscored the importance of APEC as a driving force in the economic growth within the Asia-Pacific region and emphasized that the Economic Leaders should work together to ensure all governments are collaborating in sustaining the region’s economic resilience amid the effects brought by several global issues including the COVID-19 pandemic.
He stressed various key points which he considered an utmost priority amid global issues such as food security, global health systems and climate change plans, as well as global and regional economic governance.
The APEC CEO Summit serves as a prominent forum for the APEC Member Economies and top business leaders in the Asia-Pacific region to further discuss business opportunities, investment and expansion plans towards economic development.
Mr. Robert Moritz, Global Chairman of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) International, and Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), joined President Marcos Jr. in the Summit.
