Delegates of the Nippon Keidanren, a Japan business federation, met with President Benigno S. Aquino III to show support after they vowed cooperation in Philippines’ eco-friendly growth.
The federation led by its chairman, Hiromasa Yonekura (Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd.), was accompanied by Japan Ambassador to the Philippines Toshinao Urabe and Japanese Minister for Economic Affairs Akio Isomata. Present on the Philippine side were Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo and Philippine Ambassador to Japan Manuel Lopez.
As part of its mission, Nippon Keidanren members hold dialogues with government leaders, administrators, labor unions, and citizens around the globe, urging them to adhere with the federation’s Charters on Corporate Behavior and Global Environment to help recover public confidence in businesses, at the same time, resolve international problems and deepen economic relations with other countries.
