President Rodrigo Roa Duterte attended the administration and signing of the oath of office of his son, Davao City Mayor-Elect Sebastian ‘Baste’ Zimmerman Duterte, as well as the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected government officials of Davao City and members of the House of Representatives at the SP Session Hall in Davao City.

The President, together with outgoing Davao City Mayor and incoming Vice President Sara Zimmerman Duterte and members of the immediate family of Mayor-Elect Duterte, witnessed the ceremony administered by Court of Appeals Associate Justice Loida Posadas-Kahulugan.

Davao City Mayor-Elect Sebastian Duterte delivered his inaugural address to the people of Davao at the City Hall grounds wherein he thanked the Davaoeños for their trust and confidence, and for the opportunity to lead and serve Davao City.  He also appealed to them to set aside differences and stay united.

For his part, President Duterte congratulated and expressed his felicitations to the newly elected local government officials of Davao City and members of the House of Representatives.  “Thank you for taking on the challenge of serving our kababayans with competence, honesty and integrity,” the Chief Executive emphasized in his speech.
