President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the groundbreaking rites for the Pampanga Provincial Hospital – Clark, the first government hospital inside the Clark Economic Zone, on his last Labor Day as Chief Executive.

“The strategic location of this hospital will make our services and assistance programs more accessible to neighboring communities. It will likewise decongest other hospitals in the region, especially when a major public health crisis is coming in the future,” President Duterte said in his speech in Pampanga, further stressing that the government remains steadfast on maximizing healthcare capacities despite various challenges.

The Pampanga Provincial Hospital – Clark is a three-story facility with a two-story support service building. It aims to provide accessible and low-cost health services to more than 121,000 workers within the Clark Freeport Zone, including the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) employees, as well as the local residents of Pampanga.

Recognizing the efforts made by the Provincial Government of Pampanga, the Chief Executive remarked, “You have helped us realize our goal of a healthier and more productive Filipino citizen. Responsible and responsive leaders should know the areas where they can build and establish advantageous institutions even for the successful generations.”

“Lastly, I am confident that the construction of this facility will move according to approved timelines, to ensure that it will serve the constituency at the soonest possible time,” he added.

The hospital will be built within a total of 9,529 square meters of land area, and will have 125 beds capacity. Several services will also be offered, including administrative, clinical, nursing and ancillary services. It will be constructed under a Usufruct agreement between the CDC and the Government of Pampanga signed on 2020.

“Now that I am already at the tail end of my administration, I thank everyone who has helped me realize the dreams we have for our country. Always do your best and remember to serve selflessly in whatever capacity you have,” President Duterte ended in his speech.
