The Philippine delegation leads the discussion at the Roundtable Theme 2: Skilling Migrants for Employment during the 13th Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) Summit hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs (PAFA) and Chief of Presidential Protocol Robert E.A. Borje co-chairs the roundtable meeting with Victoria Hermon of the United Kingdom (UK).

As co-chair, the Philippines emphasizes the need to contextualize skilling as uplifting human dignity and human rights, citing that under the Duterte Administration, skilling is more than increasing productivity or responding to labor needs.

The Philippines’ participation at the #GFMD13 is anchored on President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s commitment to protect and promote the rights and welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

This is the fourth day of the 13th GFMD Summit.
