President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administered the oath of office to newly appointed Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel H. Gaerlan in a ceremony at the Music Room in Malacañan Palace.

The former Court of Appeals (CA) Justice shall occupy the post vacated by Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta following his appointment.

After the ceremony, SC Associate Justice Gaerlan, together with his immediate family, posed for a photo opportunity with the President.
