President Rodrigo Roa Duterte praised the contributions and services of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in maintaining peace and order in the country, and reminded them to always ‘rebuild and sustain the confidence of the Filipinos in the police force.’
In his speech during the 118th Police Service Anniversary at Camp Crame, President Duterte extended his gratitude to the PNP for enforcing the rule of law, preventing corruption, and maintaining peace and order for public safety and internal security.
“In all of these undertakings, I call upon you to keep your integrity intact as you uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in public service,” the President said.
He also commended the police force’s efforts in its strong campaign against wrongdoings in the country such as criminality, corruption and illegal drugs, as well as the internal cleansing in the PNP.
In return for these efforts, the Commander-in-Chief remained committed in giving his full support in strengthening the capabilities of the PNP in securing and ensuring the welfare of its forces.
This year’s anniversary focused on the theme, ‘Pinaghusay na Serbisyo, Alay sa Sambayanang Pilipino.’ Among the highlights of the event was the presentation of awards and recognitions to several outstanding PNP officers and units across the country.
“With your undaunted commitment in the exercise of your duty, and with the active participation of our citizens in our shared task of nation-building, I am confident that we will achieve a safer, stronger, and more peaceful future for our people,” the President affirmed.
