President Rodrigo Roa Duterte urged the newly promoted star rank officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to rekindle their pledge as civil servants and protectors of the people as he administered their oath-taking rites at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace.
“To the newly promoted generals, I urge you to uphold the highest ethical standards in your profession even as you strive to remain firm in controlling order and the rule of law, preventing and controlling again crimes, and the order of our nation,” the Commander-in-Chief said.
He also encouraged the newly sworn uniformed officers to serve as remarkable inspiration for the youth through good example.
“I invite you to foster improved relations with the communities you serve so you may inspire our people to actively participate in the work of nation-building,” he added.
The President also vowed that the administration shall continue in fully supporting the PNP’s vision to become a ‘highly capable, effective and credible police force.’
“I acknowledge the efforts of your leadership to improve the capacity of the entire organization, and I ask you to work with me in the crucial task of eradicating criminality and corruption in the country,” President Duterte said.
After his speech, the Commander-in-Chief had a photo opportunity with the PNP officers and their respective family members.
