President Rodrigo Roa Duterte received the credentials of Her Excellency Princess Angelika Latufuipeka Tuku’aho (Kingdom of Tonga Ambassador-Designate to the Philippines), His Excellency Walubita Imakando (Republic of Zambia Ambassador-Designate to the Philippines), His Excellency Nkoloi Nkoloi (Republic of Botswana Ambassador-Designate to the Philippines), and His Excellency Bakhtiyor Saidov (Republic of Uzbekistan Ambassador-Designate to the Philippines), at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace.
Bringing with them their credentials and conveying the amiable greetings from their respective country’s leaders to President Duterte, the Ambassadors expressed their aspirations to further bolster the ties between their countries and the Philippines as they fulfill their duties as Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of the Philippines.
“Please allow me to convey to you, Your Excellency, the cordial greetings of His Majesty King Tupou VI and extend through, Your Excellency, the friendly sentiments and good wishes of His Majesty and the people of Tonga to Your Excellency and the people of the Philippines,” Ambassador Princess Angelika Latufuipeka Tuku’aho of the Kingdom of Tonga said.
Ambassador Walubita Imakando of the Republic of Zambia also hoped that his tour of duty in the Philippines will be a fruitful and productive one. He wished to pledge himself to work tirelessly with the Philippine government to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
Republic of Botswana Ambassador Nkoloi Nkoloi, meanwhile, expressed his hope to promote good fraternal relations between the peoples of the Philippines and Botswana. He also wished the President good health and prosperity.
Republic of Uzbekistan Ambassador Bakhtiyor Saidov, on the other hand, aims to expand the bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the Philippines.
“There’s a growing number of agreements between our countries. I hope that we can further expand on it and we hope that these negotiations going on will succeed. And we do not think for a doubt — we do not doubt for a moment that we are dealing with a great country, Uzbekistan,” President Duterte said.
