President Rodrigo Roa Duterte warmly welcomed His Excellency Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Philippines, and accepted his letter of credentials during the presentation of credentials ceremony at the Reception Hall in Malacañan Palace.

The President conveyed his enthusiasm to the Thai envoy who is marking his “first ambassadorial assignment” to the Philippines.

“I’m sure that you’d learn so many things along the way. You won’t have a hard time. We are similar in all things including our desire to have a peaceful Southeast Pacific region,” President Duterte said in his remarks.

The Ambassador was accorded with arrival honors at the Malacañan Palace grounds and signed in the guestbook prior to the presentation of credentials. After the simple ceremony, the Chief Executive invited the envoy for a tete-a-tete inside the Music Room.

This year marks the 70th anniversary celebration of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Philippines.
