President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, together with the delegation of the Government of the Philippines, held a bilateral meeting with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang during his visit to the People’s Republic of China for the 2nd Belt and Road Forum (BRF) for International Cooperation.

President Duterte and Premier Li already met on several occasions. In 2016 after his election as the Philippines’ Chief Executive, President Duterte convened with Premier Li in a meeting during his State Visit to China. This was followed by the attendance of the President to the 1st Belt and Road Forum on May 2017 where the two leaders met for an expanded bilateral meeting.

On November 2017, Premier Li came to the Philippines to participate in the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits, where he also met with President Duterte at the Malacañan Palace.
