President Benigno S. Aquino III led the official launching of the TESDA Specialista Technopreneurship Program (TSTP) where he handed over tool kits to eight TESDA trained and certified workers in a program held at the TESDA auditorium in Taguig City.
TSTP is a new program under Director-General Emmanuel Joel Villanueva wherein TESDA graduates who have not yet landed a job are organized in ten aggrupations comprising several services or qualifications — called Samahang TESDA Specialista — in order to provide services to households and communities.
In his message, President Aquino said that in the 2011 Impact Evaluation Study, almost sixty-one percent (61%) of the Technical-Vocational and Educational Training (TVET) program graduates were able to get a job.

“Nitong Enero nga po, mayroon nang mahigit tatlong libo at anim na raan na TVET graduates and natulungan ng TSTP. Sa ipinamalas na sipag at dedikasyon ng lahat ng kawani ng TESDA, kompiyansa akong maaabot natin ang target ninyong magdagdag pa dito ng mahigit limang libong TVET graduates ngayong 2012,” the President stated.
He added that under the government’s economic stimulus program, 500 million pesos was allotted to TESDA for the training of 65,000 scholars in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry.
The services or qualifications under each aggrupation include the following: Building/House Repair and Maintenance Services, Beauty Care and Wellness Services, Appliance Repair Services, Automotive/Vehicle Maintenance Services, Tourism Related Services, Health Related Services, Computer Hardware Services and Metal Fabrication Services.
