President Rodrigo Roa Duterte endorsed his support to the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino -Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) senatorial and guest senatorial candidates in a campaign sortie held at the Don Faustino L. Dy Memorial Coliseum in Cauayan City, Isabela.

Among those the President vouched for were re-electionist Senator Joseph Victor ‘JV’ Ejercito, Senator Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel III, former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, former Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Corrections chief Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa, singer Freddie Aguilar, Maguindanao 2nd District Representative Zajid ‘Dong’ Mangudadatu, former Presidential Political Adviser Francis Tolentino, and former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Rafael Alunan.

The President also slammed ‘Otso Diretso’, the opposition’s senatorial bets, saying that ‘they only criticize’ his administration. He also challenged anyone to name a project the opposition made that provided meaningful impact to the lives of the Filipinos.

In his speech that lasted about two hours, President Duterte reiterated the administration’s strong stance on several issues such as fighting criminality particularly on its illegal drugs campaign, graft and corruption in government, and installing law and order, among others.

PDP-Laban, the presidential ruling party, is vying for 12 senatorial seats in the upcoming May 2019 mid-term election with its senate slate composed of five (5) candidates belonging in the PDP-Laban, and seven (7) others as the party’s guest senatorial candidates.
