President Rodrigo Roa Duterte conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kampilan to four (4) soldiers who were wounded during an encounter with the New People’s Army (NPA) in Mindanao.

The soldiers are currently admitted at the Camp Edilberto Evangelista Station Hospital in Patag, Cagayan de Oro City where they are receiving proper medication and treatment. They sustained injuries after an exchange of fire with the NPA rebels in the provinces of Bukidnon, Surigao del Sur, and Lanao del Sur.
