President Rodrigo Roa Duterte met with Honorable Chuichi Date, President of the House of Councillors of Japan, and his delegation in a courtesy call at the Malacañan Palace.

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr., Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III accompanied President Duterte during the courtesy call.
