Ambassador Evan P. Garcia, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the United Nations at Geneva (UNG) joins Ministers, policy-makers and other stakeholders during the Opening Plenary of the Eleventh Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) Summit Meeting at the Palmeraie Palace in Marrakech, Morocco on December 5, 2018.

The Opening Plenary carries the theme, “From global commitments to multi-stakeholder action: inspiring implementation at the regional, national and sub-national level.”

Co-chaired by the Kingdom of Morroco and the Government of Germany, the event discusses global migration concerns and review GFMD’s migration-related commitments in the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, a United Nations-led process of elaborating a Global Compact for safe, orderly and regular migration.
