Parañaque City

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte inaugurated the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), the country’s first landport, along Coastal Road in Parañaque City.

The President unveiled the PITX marker at the ground level entrance and was given a briefing while touring the facilities of the terminal such as the ticketing counter and boarding gate, as well as viewing the TV display showing the simulation of departure and arrival of buses.

In his message, President Duterte congratulated the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and its private partner for building a world-class infrastructure that would serve and provide comfort to the Filipino commuters. He instructed the DOTr and other concerned government agencies to ensure that the buses servicing the PITX are road worthy and compliant with environmental laws.

The President noted that the PITX features a “state-of-the-art bus reservation and online booking with seat selection options, plus an advance ticketing system with the terminal’s centralized ticketing counters and automated ticketing kiosks.”

The PITX is a flagship project of the administration’s ‘Build Build Build’ Infrastructure Program in partnership with the MWM Terminals Inc. It is the “first integrated and multi-modal terminal” in the southwestern part of the National Capital Region (NCR) or Metro Manila that shall serve as a “transfer point between provincial buses from Cavite, Batangas, and in-city modes of transportation.” The terminal is expected to reduce the number of provincial buses plying Metro Manila, particularly Taft Avenue-Pasay, EDSA.

Featuring world-class standard designs, the PITX has three levels and houses modern concourse facilities, passenger-friendly systems for senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), multi-modal connections, a wide range of commercial services, health and wellness amenities, 24-hour CCTV monitoring, and 24-hour feedback center for customers.
