President Rodrigo Roa Duterte condoled with the bereaved families of the slain soldiers and policemen in a wake visit at the Camarines Sur Provincial Police Office (CSPPO) in Naga City.

During the event, the Commander-in-Chief posthumously conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kalasag to PO1 Ralph Jason Vida, SPO1 Percival Rafael, and PO3 Carlito Navarroza who died in an ambush allegedly executed by communist rebels in Lupi, Camarines Sur last October 18, 2018.

Likewise, the families of Pvt. Reuben Bersabe from the 9th Infantry Division (9ID) who encountered communist rebels in Labo, Camarines Norte last 14 October 2018, and Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Acting Auxillary (CAA) Teodoro Adoptante who died in an encounter in Lupi, Camarines Sur on 16 October 2018, also received the Kalasag medals from President Duterte.

The Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kalasag is “awarded to officials and personnel of the Government and private individuals who lost their lives and/or property as direct result of their participation in an activity pursuant to a campaign or advocacy of the President.”
