President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the awarding of the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the rank of Kampilan and rank of Kamagi to 26 outstanding soldiers as he graced the 12th Activation Anniversary of the Mechanized Infantry Division (MID) at the Camp O’Donnell in Capas, Tarlac.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) conferment were also bestowed to nine individuals, three military units, and two civilians.
In his speech, the Commander-in-Chief lauded the troops’ exemplary performance in its mission to protect the nation and the Filipino people against various threats, including its law enforcement and anti-drug operations.
“This occasion does not only embody the service and compassion of our men and women in uniform, but also highlights the achievements of our troops in various military campaigns that promote peace and development in our communities,” he said.
He emphasized his unwavering support to the military, promising them the necessary resources to effectively fulfill their roles as protectors in accordance to their organization’s mandate.
“As long as you perform your mandate in accordance with the law, this administration will remain steadfast in supporting your organization and will provide you with the necessary tools and resources that will enable you to effectively fulfill your duties as defenders of this nation,” President Duterte added.
According to President Duterte, the MID would benefit from the five projects as part of the 2nd Horizon of the Revised AFP Modernization Program that will help boost their capabilities in securing and protecting the nation.
I am certain that these projects, which are already in the pipeline, will address the gaps in our defenses as we further strengthen our Armed Forces,” he said.
The ceremony adopted the theme ‘Team Armor, Kaagapay ng Sambayanan Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran.”
