President Rodrigo Roa Duterte received H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, in a courtesy call in Malacañan Palace.

Upon his arrival, the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs signed the guestbook and posed with the President in a photo opportunity.

After the photo opportunity, President Duterte together with Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Departments of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III, National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Hermogenes Esperon, Jr., Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Alan Timbayan, and Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Secretary Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, convened with the members of the Qatari delegation in a courtesy call and hosting of the Merienda Cena in honor of the visiting leader.

The Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs paid a two-day visit in the Philippines to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries. He was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in January 2016 and Deputy Prime Minister in November 2017.
