President Rodrigo Roa Duterte joined the Muslim leaders from various sectors all over the country in the 2018 Eid’l Fitr celebration with the theme, ‘The Willingness to Make Sacrifice in Our Lives in order to Stay in A Straight Path,’ at the SMX Convention Center in Lanang, Davao City.
Eid’l Fitr marked the end of a month-long fast for Muslims during Ramadan that is observed on the 9th month of the Hijirah or Islamic calendar. As part of the Five Pillars of Islam, Muslims fast for 30 days during the month of Ramadan to help attain God consciousness and self-discipline.

The celebration was also attended by National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) officials, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) officials, Muslim diplomats, members of the Senate and the House of Representatives, Muslim executives from National Government Agencies (NGAs), Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) officials and personnel.
