President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and President Moon Jae-in delivered their joint press statement at the Cheong Wa Dae (Blue House) in Seoul, South Korea.

In his statement, President Moon welcomed the delegates from the Philippines and conveyed that the bilateral summit between him and President Duterte is their second meeting since their initial talks on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Manila, Philippines last year.

The South Korean leader said that their bilateral summit further deepened the relations between the two countries.

He also recalled how the Filipino soldiers helped South Korea in their battle for freedom during the Korean War many decades back.

In his response, President Duterte expressed his gratitude for the invitation to visit South Korea, adding that the two countries have long standing ties. He sees that the two nations will share a productive future given their cooperation and partnership in the past.

The Philippine Chief Executive added that his restricted meeting with the South Korean leader was very productive wherein they discussed investments in infrastructure and technology, among others.
