Professor Nomar Waminal, Ph.D. is a recipient of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) for Region X in 2005. He is a scientist and research professor in the Chromosome Research Institute of Sahmyoong University.

He is also a recipient of the Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Awards by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) for earning his bachelor’s degree.

He completed his Ph.D. in Crop Science and Biotechnology from Seoul National University in 2017. Since then, he has worked on several community projects in the Philippines.
