President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the distribution of donated emergency vehicles to 15 local government unit (LGU) recipients during the turnover ceremony at the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) Grounds in Calinan, Davao City.
The Government of Japan donated 17 emergency vehicles to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) through a project dubbed, ‘The Project of Providing Emergency Vehicles to Mindanao’.
Before the distribution of the keys to the recipients, President Duterte witnessed the blessing of the vehicles by Father Emmanuel Gonzaga.
H.E. Koji Haneda, Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines, and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Undersecretary Eduardo Año assisted President Duterte in the keys distribution of the 17 emergency vehicles to the 15 LGU recipients – one (1) ambulance unit each to Butuan City in Agusan del Norte, San Francisco in Agusan del Sur, Talacogon in Agusan del Sur, Tagum City in Davao del Norte, Koronadal in South Cotabato, General Santos City, Cagayan de Oro City, Valencia City in Bukidnon, Zamboanga City, Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte, Bongao in Tawi-Tawi, Isabela in Basilan, and Cotabato City; one (1) pumper truck to the Municipality of Montevista in Compostela Valley; and one (1) ambulance unit, one (1) rescue truck, and one (1) pumper truck to Davao City.
