President’s Hall, Malacañan Palace

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte held a dialogue with the labor sector in the President’s Hall of Malacañan Palace.

Various issues were presented by the labor sector such as the issue of contractualization, wage setting, government cash subsidy, workers’ representation in tripartite bodies, recruitment and facilitation fees, and the freedom of association in economic zones.

The labor sector attendees were composed of the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) Partylist, Nagkaisa Labor Coalition, Kilusang Mayo Uno, Associated Labor Unions, Federation of Free Workers, Sentro ng Nagkakaisa at Progresibong Manggagawa, and the Partido ng Manggagawa.

The government side was represented by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III and several officials from the DOLE, Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
